Hi,

I've been practicing PAT with CDP for past 2 weeks. Looks like I've been getting 23-24 range, but someone told me that PAT on the real one is insanely difficult so I should expect to get 3-4 points lower than my practice scores.

How were your practice scores compared to the real one?

Plus I find Key Hole and TFE to be easier on CDP than any other tests. Is this case with the real one as well?

When I took achiever test, their PAT was relatively difficult and I ended up getting 18 (it was the first time getting <20)

What do you think?

Thanks,

From what I've gathered in the forums, the angles are about the same and the cube counting is easier on the real DAT

I haven't heard about the other sections, but everyone seems to think that CDP is a really good practice software so

I thought CDP angles and cube counting were harder. And I thought key holes was harder on the real PAT.

My CDP's: 26, 23, 23, 22, 26, 28, 25, 25, 25, 28
Achiever PAT's: 20, 19, 20

Average Achiever: 19.7
Average CDP: 25.1
Real PAT: 25

CDP seems pretty consistent to me.

Keyhole--> CDP is easier
TFE--> Same
Angles--> Same
Hole Punching--> DAT is easier
Cube Counting--> DAT is easier (CDP has illusions, otherwise they are the same)
Folding--> Same

So pretty much what UCLADDS said. I made 20's consistently on CDP and 21 on the real thing.
Topscore PAT--> easier than both

I agree with the above poster, except for me:

Keyhole--> CDP is easier
TFE--> Same
Angles--> DAT was harder
Hole Punching--> DAT is easier
Cube Counting--> DAT is easier (CDP has illusions, otherwise they are the same)
Folding--> Same

I think among all the available mock test, CDP and achiever's PAT probably have the best quality in terms of accuracy. The reason why I said this is because when I took my real DAT, I noticed that except for angel ranking, all the other sessions are really testing your perceptibility conceptually. The questions and answers are very accurate, ie for the right answer, it has to be the absolute right one, whereas in some of the practice test, I sometimes have to come up with an answer choice that is least "wrong" among the choices. Given your CDP scores, I think you are in a very good shape. Just enjoy the precise answer choices for the real DAT.

General rule around SDN is, if your getting above 20 on the CDP.... then your pretty much guaranteed to get same or higher school on the real PAT.

CDP sections are either SAME difficulty of DAT or harder than DAT. So if your rocking your CDP, and assuming you don't fall asleep during your DAT, your going to get either same score or higher

Trust me, don't worry at all, as a simple example, I did only the first 8 CDP tests, and the HIGHEST I ever got was 21 on one of them. I used to always (towards the end) average 19-20. On the real deal I got 20 PAT (me = happy)
