CDP license key

I am trying to get a CDP bundle on my old Dell 700m laptop. But when I go through CDP's support page, I saw it might deactive the product on their licensing server if you reinstall windows or format you hard drive. Since my dell is old and unstable. Reinstall windows or format hard drive could happen after installed the CDP.

Have anyone expreienced this and how do you solve it?😕

ps. 20% reissuing fee is not cheap for the bundle. :S

I haven't tried it on windows but when I reformatted and reinstalled mac osx CDP worked just fine. 😕

Yes! I have experienced this before. Last year, I installed a fresh version of windows on my computer. Then I went back to install CDP, and my old key didn't work. I had to pay 19$ something for them to issue me a new key (They will only issue you a new key for that price if you send them the confirmation letter from prometric, which indicates that you indeed have an upcoming DAT test scheduled. This makes sense, because they want to make sure you're using the key for your own use and not for selling it to others).
But yea! If you're completely positive that your comp will crash somewhere along the way, I suggest you save yourself a lot of hassel and try to install the software on a more stable computer.

Da@#$, how can I assure that my pc won't crash! I am trying to get their bundle. If something bad happen to my pc, I will have to pay 20% of the bundle ~$60 to get a new key. I now have to reconsider purchasing their product.

this is HARD! Why they make this so difficult!!!

Yea! If you're hoping for a free key, IT'S NOT HAPPENING! They are VERYYYYYYYYYY strict with their policy on reissuing keys, and I don't blame them. This is their business and they want to protect it from all the bootlegging and the torrent crap that's out there.

What free key! I am serious buyer. I just don't have extra money to buy a new laptop.

I guess the only thing I can do is to save some money to get a new hard drive to replace the old one that currently in my dell 700m. Then go after CDP

No, that is what I want to know too. But looks like their support is quite good. I contacted them about the license key issue and they get back to me pretty quickly.

They have great support! I have had to have over 10 new licence keys issued because for some reason it kept asking me to revalidate and it would not. It would do this every 1-2 weeks. They were great. I recieved all of the licence keys for free. You just need to get the right person on the phone! Good luck and the software was well worth all the phone calls that I made. I would do it all over again!

Yea! It was the same PC, same HDD, and the same Windows registration key. CDP simply didn't work after I installed the new windows.

If you registered over the weekend you should get your registration key by the end of today or tomorrow morning. They will send you the key as soon as your credit card clears.

I dont see why you cant reinstall on the SAME computer. Heck even my Windows XP allows me to reinstall on the SAME pc and go through windows WGA activation no problem. Can someone tell me what the process involves? For my Topscore, all they do is like send me a license key. I enter it on my PC and away I go.

If this is true, people like you are the reason why I had to pay $20 to get a new key after my hard drive died and having to replace it. Great job ripping off a company and driving the price up and ruining the policy for everyone else.
