Hello everyone😍,

I'm currently doing some CDP PAT practice exams. I've done the first three and I lost so much confidence on cube counting and hole punching. These two used to be my favorites when I was doing kaplan practice sets but for CDP, I'm like WTF on every questions. I got like 6/15 on cube counting for #3 CDP exam!!! and it brings my whole score down so much.
I've been getting like either perfect score (15/15) or at least 13 on angle problems and above 11 for all the rest of the sections EXCEPT for CUBE COUNTING!!!!! I see that people are having difficulties with angles but for me I'm having so much trouble with cube counting, which should be one of the easiest section. 😱

Also my major problem with CDP PAT is I'm always out of time by like 20 minutes. It's majorely because of the cube counting and hole punching as well! I have to count the cubes all over again like two times because sometimes the total number doesnt match or the answer choice doesn't have the number I wanted.

Is CDP PAT supposed to take longer than the 60 minutes because it's harder? Or should I try to finish those within 60 minutes as well?

Any advice would be helpful. Thanks!!! 😍

And anybody who's taking the exam in two weeks (including me) Good luck studying!!!!! :luck::luck::luck::luck::luck::luck::luck:

got a Q on that.. does CDP tutor you at the begining ot ur basically jump into the testing?

It jumps straight into the problems. Just like the real DAT I believe. 🙂
It gives the instruction for each subsection, but even at times, the clock goes on...

You should definitely be getting done within the 60 minutes on CDP because lets be honest, when it comes to the real exam, you will probably be fighting nerves and moving a little slower then normal, and even if that isnt the case, you should be preparing for that scenerio. That being said, you should increase your practice time every day until you get the 3 primary sections down(Hole punch, angles, and cube counting).

Not that I would necessarily recommend this for a strategy but it worked for me and I always did really well on the cube section. I would just go right to left of the object and count the number on my fingers and look at my fingers afterwards. I didnt waste time counting all of the cubes to make sure but this obviously doesnt work for everyone. I would basically save a ton of time using this method, time I used more wisely on pattern folding and top/front/end sections.

I got the CDP on Saturday and I started with exam 1 and did not set up the timer. Like you, I've been the Queen at PAT with Kaplan, but this CDP made me cry. So to get more frustration out of my head, I'm practicing w/out time for now, and in "few days" I'll add the timer. Hang in there.

Thanks so much for sharing your strategies sfrice80!!! 😍😍😍
I'm definitely gonna try it out for CDP #4.
I will let you know how it goes 🙂
But in terms of timing, I just can't finish in 60 minutes...Dang...😱
I guess I just have to keep practice!!! 😍
