CDP question, assumptions you can make?

PAT pros,
Are you always supposed to assume that the space is empty when you can't see it? I thought it was an upside down table..but apparently im supposed assume that there is a whole in the middle.
Is this conventional?

for a cube to exist, you either see it directly or know that it has to be there because it supports something else you can see. everything starts at ground level and builds up, nothing's floating.

the cube in the middle isn't there because you can't see it and you don't have to assume it's there for support reasons.

CDP has some errors, I noticed. Some of their cube problems assume there is a cube present when you're not suppose to assume so.

I wouldn't worry because the actual DAT will be clear in their drawings, unlike CDP.
