For all those Quebec students who got into US med schools after university.

Regarding the course work section, how did you fill it in with respect to your cegep grades.

Did you list cegep as junior college, undergraduate institution or something else and did you say that you received a degree from cegep?

Also, how did you list the classes completed in cegep, that is how did you attribute credit hours? For me, 30 credits were transfered from cegep to McGill, which means that if I split them up evenly it comes to about 1.5 credits per class. Does that look bad, especially for medical pre-requisites?

How did you indicate that you completed your pre-requisites in cegep on the amcas application?

I am not french canadian, but my husband is. I'll tell you, he confused everyone when he transfered to the US after cegep. They would not believe that a unit was not the same as a credit, and flat out transfered everything as if it were. Full semester biology with lab transfered as 2 general biology credits, etc. It was a nightmare. Good luck with it, but I think you'll have difficulties.

You're probably much better off going to school in Quebec if that is an option for you. You'll have a heck of a time convincing each school you have the prerequisites if you try to transfer cegep credits in. When my husband applied to grad school, one of the schools tossed all of his cegep work because it was "high school level."
