Hey guys! So I know some people have been saying they recently have had some weird cell and molecular bio type questions popping up on their exam which is not my strong point so it kind of got me worried. On top of that, I took an NBME a couple weeks ago that had that as my lowest category. (but I didn't get the analysis version so couldn't see which questions it entailed) However, when I glanced through the High Yield Cell and Molec Bio book, it seems that I actually have gone over that stuff and tend to be getting that stuff right, so now I'm confused as to what exactly they classify as Cell and Molec. Is it like the DNA/RNA stuff? Intracellular signaling pathways? Or am I completing missing some details?? Please help!! Thankssss everyone!

I used this book to annotate stuff into First aid. Honestly, First aid has pretty much everything you need for Bio.

Molecular bio refers to anything related to replication, transcription, or translation.

IMO, the most useful chapter in HY Molecular Biology is the last chapter (Receptors and Signal Transduction). The rest is covered by First Aid in enough detail.

I read the HY Cell & Molecular book, 1st edition, and honestly, I felt that it was a waste of time. I couldn't recall a single question that I got right because I had read that book. FA & UW is enough for cell & molecular.

I'm weak in molec bio and I read the first edition a few months ago. Some was helpful, but it was before I did FA so I don't remember if there was anything particularly useful that wasn't in FA. I take the exam in thursday and tomorrow I'm going to skim the last chapter.
