Are you asking which gene makes the ectoderm develop into nervous system, skin, etc.? Because if so... my goodness, there are tons of genes working together.

For example... sonic hedgehog (Shh) is part of the story. And unfortunately, I'm not kidding:

I took a class in neuro that focused just on how the nervous system develops... and we didn't even cover a fraction of it. So much detail. This gene regulates that one, etc. etc.

Don't worry about it. Focus on WHAT the ectoderm, mesoderm, and endoderm become. The rest is... a lot of info that's highly unnecessary.
