whic of following is not a feature of the unit membrane model of the cell membrane?

a. continous lipid bilayer present
b. globular protein folating in lipids
c. hydrophobic ends of lipids in contact with water
d. continuous protein bilayers outside lipid layer
e. poorly defined pores for movement of large and/or non-lipid molecules.

the correct answer according to ans key is B.

But I chose c first since the "hydrophilic" end shout be in contact with water. Is the answer key wrong or I am worng? Thanks!

maybe because it asks about the unit cell membrane and not the phosolipid bi-layer member the answer is b. i'm guessing when teh unit cell membrane termed..those proteins were not noticed in the membrane...

No, their not. Hydrophobic ends usually don't face water, but who knows. I haven't really studied that type of membrane. Maybe it forms a micelle like structure  To the original poster, is it "folating" or floating" ?
