But I chose c first since the "hydrophilic" end shout be in contact with water. Is the answer key wrong or I am worng? Thanks!

maybe because it asks about the unit cell membrane and not the phosolipid bi-layer member the answer is b. i'm guessing when teh unit cell membrane termed..those proteins were not noticed in the membrane...

No, their not. Hydrophobic ends usually don't face water, but who knows. I haven't really studied that type of membrane. Maybe it forms a micelle like structure To the original poster, is it "folating" or floating" ?
