I'm currently a second year and am looking for a house mate or two for next year. I have a house about easy biking or about a 10 minute drive from downtown ASU or UofA Phoenix (15th ave and Thomas). It is a friendly historic neighborhood, with block parties, book clubs etc, right near Encanto Park if you like to run or play tennis.
About the house: it is 3 bed/2 bath, carport, washer/dryer/ironing board The house is furnished, but the rooms for rent are not, there are couches to crash on if you need to find a bed. I do not have a preference as to renting to males or females. Rent is $400/month+ your share utilities.
