Certiphi Background Check

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Are you wondering if traffic violations are going to show up? I wouldn't think that anyone will care even if they do, so don't worry too much about it.

If you're asking about misdemeanors or felonies, then it probably depends on whether or not the felony or misdemeanor charge resulted in a conviction, and whether or not the record was expunged.

All felonies and misdemeanors show up. This is whether they are upheld or dismissed. If you have misdemeanor or felony traffic violations, they will show up too.

If you have been charged with a felony or misdemeanor it will show ip, regardless of the outcome.

Civil violations, ie traffic tickets, do not.

Go you your clerk of courts website. If it is not a misdemeanor then dispute it. Provide them with any evidence you can.

Certiphi messed my background check up, said I had a misdemeanor when I did not. I eventually got it corrected, but certiphi does not perform their due diligence.

I had a "continue without finding". It did not show up on the Certiphi background check results. (Although I'd mentioned it anyway on my AADSAS and even included it on my Certiphi application just to be sure. )

If you were simply honest and took the policy of full disclosure than you have nothing to worry about anyways. They already accepted you having known whatever you ought to have included in AADSAS.

I knew a minor infraction wasn't going to ruin my chances anyhow. Sue me for living a little. (Thankfully nobody did ) But honestly... I remember at one interview (a school I was later accepted at) the interviewer said, "Well it looks like you had a good time in college and still did very well. *wink wink nudge nudge* "

AADSAS only asks for misdemeanor and felony charges/convictions and I felt I answered truthfully by answering no when prompted since mine was "petty offense", which in my state is separate and less severe than misdemeanor charge.

Now I am starting to doubt myself since other ppl's petty offense things do not show up on Certiphi. Yet, I am absolutely certain that the ticket I got was for "petty offense" (checked with official sources), not misdemeanor or more serious, but still shows up on Certiphi. Oh, and I called Certiphi again, and this time they told me that what I see in my copy is different from what the schools will see since certain things like traffic will be left out. It seems if I get a different representative, I get a different answer. I am now thoroughly confused and worried.

From my experience a "petty offense" wouldn't show up. Afterall, I had a "continue without finding" for a misdeamenor charge, and that didn't show up at all either. (I'd just included it to begin with in order to cover my tracks if it ever did, because I knew it wouldn't hurt me either way--that's the only point I was making).

Not true.

Hello SDNers,

I have a question and I hope someone has the answer to it or dealt with the situation before. My background check just got completed and come to find out, I have a misdemeanor from driving without a license back in 2007. I was in total shock. According to the record, I was found guilty and was required to pay $150 at the time. The thing is, when I was applying to DS, I have never mentioned it on my app because I really forgot all about it (over 5yrs ago). Do you know anyone in my situation? will they revoke my acceptance after they find out? Thank you for the reply

Dude your fine, all traffic tickets are misdemeanors and you were found guilty because you paid the ticket. Go onto aadsas and look where it says not to include traffic tickets if it will make you feel better.
