Certiphi screening questions

For addresses, do they want dorm addresses? Or permanent home addresses? How about addresses where we lived in abroad programs?

Not very specific on the site, and the help button gives no extra info.

Edit: ehh, I just went ahead and submitted...not sure what they wanted on addresses, so I just gave them home addresses.

Yea, I did the same thing. I already had 4 home addresses listed without including any of my dorm addresses. I requested a check last week and have yet to year anything after a week.

Yeah, I had like 7 addy's not including dorms and study abroad deals...that would have added, like, another 6 addresses. Too much trouble since I really didn't have "addresses" for any of those...

I figure if they want it, they will ask for it. I was pretty unimpressed with the app itself - surprised they don't ask for stuff like drivers licenses...I doubt if they do much more than run your SSN through police databases or whatever is available to them.

Well there you go!

They could be a whole lot more explicit on the app...I feel like giving out my official permanent home address back to birth is sufficient, and since the app doesn't ask anything about college, I assume they either know where you attended, or they obtain that information from some database.

So are you supposed to review the report and then comment on anything you disagree with, or what?

I included one of my dorm addresses, because it was an in-between address between two permanent addresses, and I had it listed on my credit card and stuff. The other one I left off, and put the rest as my permanent addresses.

Put what you remember, and then let them sort it out.

Surely they are most interested in where you have lived since your teens - or in the years where mischief lands you in jail.

I doubt they care much about where you lived with your family when you were 3 years old.

since you've already gotten the report... what kind of info do they find out about you? I'm kinda curious about what they can dig up with the info they ask for. I just submitted mine (it took some major digging through old filing cabinets to find all my old addresses)

If you have been accepted at a school that requires screening, at some point you will first hear from AMCAS, but only to tell you to be on the lookout for an email from the screener themselves.

Seems like a bunch of people (myself included) got emails this week.

They only ask for a total of 8 addresses... your current permanent address, and 7 previous addresses. I knew I'd have to know the information eventually, so last year when I was applying for jobs that required a background check, my mom and I sat down and wrote down all our previous addresses, as well as the dates we lived there. Not sure how accurate it is before I was 10 or so, but I don't think they really care about it back that far.

I think they might be sending them in waves, but for anyone else that's wondering (not sure if this applies to you or not, BE), it's only for schools participating in the AMCAS CBC, and only if you've gotten an acceptance from a school participating (or a waitlist and the school decides to ask for it now anyway), and only if the school has since requested it.
