so basically my question is.. let's say I got a speeding ticket that counted as a misdemeanor but was dropped by the Magistate. I run the Certiphi check through another company (like a pharmacy tech program) which also uses Certiphi, nothing comes up says it's clean (I paid 30$ For this one, was a year ago). Today paid 150$ for the amcas one. Same interface same thing same email confirmation, same site, ame email address, same boxes you gotta fill out when you first sign in however the amcas confirmation email one has Student Edition written on it... (not sure if this is significant lol)

I know I'm just paranoid but is the strength of the amcas certiphi background search stronger/different (if that makes sense...) than the other one I used for the pharm tech job? And will it pick it up?

Thanks

Are you sure? I had to pay more for the amcas one than the first.. dosent that mean It has more "features" like a stronger check?

In the disclaimer it says they authorize the card for $150 just in case it gets that expensive because depending on what states and agencies they are pulling from, the fees vary. Max cost is $150 regardless of how much they had to spend. So your card could end up being charged for $30 or $150 when it's all done.

Getting it back Monday - Wednesday. So you're saying if it didn't come up on the first one I'm straight for the second one?

I really can't say, but I don't think it will. And there may be legal constraints on them including them for this type of background check. At the later stages, like state licensing board background check they are able to see all cleared records. I have a lawyer I used to expunge a misdemeanor I had from a long time ago. They said sometimes these companies are checking old database data that is not properly updated, and if my misdemeanor shows up they can send all the necessary documentation to the agency to have them remove it from their report.

I called CERTIPHI and they told me some schools only do a state/federal criminal background which may not include county criminal arrests. Other schools do a county check too. I hope nothing shows up for you though

This was the pharmacy tech one. It searches for county records too but found nothing.

Anyone think it'll show up on the amcas one?

How long after getting the receipt was your report ready? I just got my receipt also, but the report page says server error when I sign in.

Edit: I mean the second receipt where they tell you what the final cost came out to.

Amcas checks every single county of states you have resided in.

The misdemeanor was in the county I have lived in and the pharm tech certiphi one didn't pick it up, am I in the clear?
In reading your op again, it seems like you were not convicted of the misdemeanor, nor were you arrested. A simple reading would indicate you don't have anything to report.

Yeah but some secondary apps ask if you were been charged with an offense or misdeameanor and technically I was because I received a ticket that I fought and won. I was just wondering if it would show up on the background check and if it dosent should I report it on the secondary?

I haven't encountered a secondary that says that. I would just disclose it under those circumstances.

I got a speeding ticket when I was 16, I'm 22 now. It was the only ticket I've ever gotten, and the only thing I ever had on my record at all. I paid a huge fee to get rid of it, and I was granted an abeyance from the judge, which basically just means I had to keep my driving record clean for a year. I did that, and the ticket was removed from my driving record and doesn't show up if say a cop or someone was to look at my record. However, I just had to get a background check from Certiphi for matriculation this August, and the final report did in fact have the ticket on it. I was surprised to see this, considering it was removed from my actual driving record, but I didn't stress about it, and I called my medical school to check and make sure it wasn't a problem and they said it absolutely was not a big deal. Point is, Certiphi is pretty thorough, and it probably will show up.
