Technology CFII vs SD cards -- preferences?

Just wondering if anyone has an opinion as to purchasing a 1-2GB compact flash card as opposed to a similarly sized secure digital card for a pocket pc able to accomodate either.

I think secure digital cards are faster than Compact Flash. Anyone else know definitively? (I'm too lazy to Google it.)

I had thought that CF cards were faster, but that might have been a couple of years ago, and doesn't make any difference now. There are probably more CF peripherals (GPS, etc.), so using SD for memory is a good idea.
