So we know that in CGD, you are susceptible to catalase positive strains such as Staph, but then why would you get aspergillois as well? This was from one of the Q bank q I had. Many thanks in advance.

Other catalase-positive organisms include Listeria, Corynebacterium diphtheriae, Burkholderia cepacia, Nocardia, the family Enterobacteriaceae (Citrobacter, E. coli, Enterobacter, Klebsiella, Shigella, Yersinia, Proteus, Salmonella, Serratia), Mycobacterium tuberculosis and Cryptococcus.

Don't forget H. pylori

Here's a mnemonic

SPACE
Staphylococci (important not confuse it with streptococci)
Pseudomonas aeroginosa
Aspergillus fumigatus
Candida
Enterobacteriaceae (specially Klebsiella and Serratia both of which can cause pneumonia and UTI)

Worth to remember that none of the anaerobes are Catalase positive

Some other Catalase positive
Nisseria (Gonorrhea & Meningitidis)
Vibrio
Nocardia
Campylobacter & Helicobacter
Gardnerella vaginalis
Pseudomonas cepacia
Mycobacterium Tebeculosis also produce a heat sensitive catalase ( active only in body temperature ) so it become catalase negative at 68.0 "F

That's in Pathoma. Sattar even makes a point to say that, of all the catalase positive bugs, test writers love Pseudomonas cepacia.
