Hello,
Just wanted to say that I always appreciated this forum and the people that dedicate their time to give advice to pre-meds.

Here are my stats.
cGPA 3.47, sGPA 3.3 (no visible upward trend)
MCAT1: 508, C/Ph 127, CARS 125, B/BCh 129, P/Sc 127
MCAT2: 511, C/Ph 126, CARS 124, B/BCh 130, P/Sc 131

Korean-American, fluent in Korean. State of residence used to be Washington until I graduated from University of Washington-Seattle in June.

Clinical Experience: Autopsy Technician Intern (non-volunteer) 1200+ hrs. (1.4 years)
Shadowing Experience: Pediatrics, NICU 40hrs
Research Experience: None. I only have a special mentions on a research paper from a respiratory medicine journal which I helped draft the final paper.
Volunteering: None since highschool. (I volunteered at a hospice center, and a mental illness center in highschool 1+ year)
Strong LORs from pathologist, autopsy technician, 3 professors.

I want to be a trauma surgeon (many may say that preferences change when entering med school, but my conviction is strong. If it's not trauma, it will still definitely be surgery). To be honest, after scrambling through SDN pages about the differences between MD, and DO, honestly I have no opinions against any. Whichever gets me to become a trauma surgeon I don't care about titles. (SMP, Post-Bacc are out of the option b/c of financial reasons) Which is why I plan on applying to both MD, and DO schools if possible.

I've applied for the 2017 application in my junior year, but did not receive any invitations for interviews.
This is the list that I applied to back then:

Virginia Tech Carilion SOM
University of Minnesota MS
Albany Medical College
University of Washington SOM
Loyala Stritch SOM
Joan C. Edwards SOM
Chicago MS
Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science
University of Kentucky
University of Massachusetts
Howard
Rush
Medical College of Wisconsin
The Commonwealth Medical College
NYMC
University of Colorado SOM

Thank you so much!

Where is your current state of residence? You are competitive for all DO schools so apply to at least 8 next June and submit all your secondaries by July. For MD schools you could try these:
Vermont
Quinnipiac
New York Medical College
Albany
Drexel
Temple
Jefferson
GW
Georgetown
Oakland Beaumont
Western Michigan
Medical College Wisconsin
Rosalind Franklin
St. Louis
Creighton
Tulane
any new schools that may open for 2019 (Seton Hall, NOVA MD, Roseman, Kaiser)

Faha, I really appreciate the list! Amazing as always 🙂
After graduating, I moved back to Korea to study for the MCAT while spending time with family. That means that currently, I am not a resident of any state. I plan on moving back at the latest by the end of January next year hopefully working at a hospital position, whether it be an EKG tech, or a scribe. At this point, I can't say which state that would be in.

You will need to claim residence is some state when you apply. If you have family in Washington and that is your most recent residence then that will most likely be your state of residence. Also apply to U Washington and Washington State (new school). Also the OOS public schools on your list: UMass, Kentucky, Minnesota, Virginia Tech, Colorado accept very few non residents with your stats.

I understand. My case is a bit different from the usual since I graduated from an International high school, and after going to U Washington, I worked full-time to establish residency through the university. I really like the things I've heard about U Wash SOM so I plan on returning if possible and reestablishing residency.
Yes! UMass, Kentucky, Minnesota, VTech, Colorado were from a school list I generated before I knew of SDN. 🙂 Now I know where to find help. Thank you.
