Hey guys, I am trying to decide if I should even bother applying and would appreciate some advice.
  1. cGPA: 3.38, sGPA: 3.3.
    1. In addition, I have a downward trend since my first year was a 3.88 at a community college/USC, and my next three years are at Cornell, with sGPAs of 2.83, 3.28, and 2.91. The combined GPA at Cornell is 3.09 and the lowest score is a c- in physics (1.7). I have one last semester to go before graduating.
  2. MCAT score is 524 (131, 129, 132, 132), taken during Junior year.
  3. New Jersey resident
  4. Asian
  5. 1 semester of community college, 1 at USC, remaining 3 years at Cornell University.
  6. For clinical experience, I have about 650 hours of paid/non-paid consisting of hospice volunteering, phlebotomy, and nursing assistant work.
  7. In terms of research, I have interned for 200 hours at a medical school lab as well as 400 hours in an undergrad neurobiology lab. No pubs.
  8. ~80 hours of shadowing a primary care doctor.
  9. ~250 hours at a soup kitchen.
  10. Will be taking one gap year if I apply this cycle.
Do I stand any chance at all in any MD or DO schools? I feel like the low gpa and downward trend kills my chances completely.
