I'm applying to medical school next year and am trying to determine where to strengthen my application in terms of extracurriculars. But before that here are some stats:
Undergrad cGPA: 3.90
Undergrad sGPA: 3.80
MCAT: taking January of 2018 with practice tests around 508-510
So a brief summary of my ECs
Patient care: CNA at skilled nursing facility and will have easily 1000+ hours by med school application
Research: research assistant in cell biology lab since april 2017 with an average of 3 hours per week (will be a total of 120 hours)
Community Service: Medical translator for underserved Latino community (total of 100 hours), mission trip from 2014-2016 in Ecuador which included 3 hours of community service per week (very conservative estimate of 200 hours)
Physician shadowing: 50 hours over 6 physicians (2 were primary care physicians)
Leadership: Youth counselor for 14-18 young men, training new CNAs
What do you guys think my chances are of getting into medical school? I know I need to work on my ECs but what do you guys think I can do to better strengthen my app?
Schools looking at to apply:
Colorado CU
University of Utah
Penn State
Ohio State
Medical college of Wisconsin
University of Wisconsin
Virginia Commonwealth
Oregon
Creighton
George Washington
Georgetown
Indiana
Arizona - Phoenix
Arizona - tuscon
