What did he mean about the mnemonic "Never Have Fear Of Ice Cold Beer" I know he was talking about 7 diatomic elements: Nitrogen, Hydrogen, Fluorine, Oxygen, Iodine, Chlorine, and Bromine-- but i forgot what he meant by that! can someone please remind me!!

They're diatomic molecules.
Nitrogen, Hydrogen, Fluorine, Oxygen, Iodine, Chlorine, Bromine.

He was referring to them in talking about the Enthalpies of Formation. He mentions that formation reactions make exactly 1 mol of product form individual elements in their standard states. The standard states for the those molecules are in their "diatomic state."

So, Cl2 (g) ---> Cl2 (g) has an enthalpy of formation that equals 0.

Also - sorry for all the edits! My computer is spazzing and won't let me write this properly.
