How well do Chad's GenChem and OChem quizzes cover what is on the DAT? I've read that Chad's videos are all you need. I too am a HUGE fan of his videos, but my subscription to them ended a while back. I just repurchased all of his quizzes to go through, and I was just wondering if the quizzes pretty much cover everything. What do you guys think?

From what I've read on breakdowns, Chad's quizzes are around the difficulty of the DAT...

but some of the quizzes are much shorter (3 questions after 20 min video), and i'm pretty sure they won't cover everything.

add another resource or two to get problems from (bootcamp, qvault, ~destroyer, etc)

Oh yea, I've gone through Destroyer and Bootcamp also. I was just trying to see if there was anything that Chad's quizzes didn't really cover. I'm in the process of going back through his quizzes now.

His quizzes are really good and I made sure to do as much as I could the week or so before my exam. However, his quizzes are very straight forward while I found some of the questions on the DAT were not. Chad's OC quizzes were on par with the DAT I thought. Extremely straight forward. GC on the real thing was not always so. On the real thing, there were definitely some like, "What element has this property?" (for example) while other ones asked you about a more simple concept but in a roundabout way.

I guess what I'm trying to get at is to make sure you can approach these from more than one angle. Chad's make sure you understand the concepts. And these SAME concepts are tested on, just a little differently. I would NOT have got a 22 on GC or 21 on OC without Chad. Once I knew the concepts in Chad's I broke out and started tearing away at different resources to try and get things from different angles.

I think he covers everything, but his quizzes don't. You'll have to go back through his notes to make sure you don't neglect certain topics

Also it's true that he asks everything in a very straight forward way so you need find other sources that make you approach the problems in a different manner.

Cool. Thanks for the replies, guys. I've gone through Destroyer about 1.5 times after going over Chad's back at the beginning of my studies. There is just so much in Destroyer, I feel like I can't remember everything from it. I hope I'll be ok

Since destroyer is way too difficult compared to what we need to know for the DAT,

I wouldn't try to remember anything specific from it, rather, i'd just use it as a tool to reinforce basic concepts that we learned from chad's videos because that's what's being tested on the DAT.

I think destroyer is good since it pretty much forces us to understand the base material, or else we get destroyed XD

That's exactly what I use Destroyer for, whenever I come across something that Chad covered I spend a lot of time going over that specific thing. I spend less time on the questions that are not covered by Chad and clearly just there to test you on stuff out of your comfort zone. That's why I don't really understand when people say Destroyer doesn't help, because when I go through it, I find that it really does reinforce concepts that you would have read prior to starting it.

They cover everything you need. The other sources are there for good measure to make sure you get a good score. After using Chad's...you should rely on your chems to be the highest scores on your DAT. Destroyer is so overkill it's crazy...but that depends on how hard your specific exam will be.

Yes. He's right. The Chem's should be the highest after Chad's. In fact, I think Destroyer, while overkill, is a perfect resource. Especially for OC because you'll get into the test and be like "OK, question 71 - A, 72 - B, 73 - A, boom, boom, boom." Pay attention to your time. Had I not spend longer than I should on a few GC questions, I'm sure I could have comfortably gone over the science and maybe caught things that I missed.
