CHADS score and a flutter

Is the CHADS score applicable to atrial flutter as well as a fib? I would think logically you could use it for flutter, but I can't find any solid info on it.

cardiologists are adamant that atrial fibrillation has a much higher risk of causing mural thrombi and subsequent embolic strokes (compared to atrial flutter). thus, there isn't as much of an indication to put patients on systemic anticoagulation for atrial flutter (compared to A. fib).

Or at least we've been told so.
