Hi everyone! Can Someone please help me make a pharmacy chain of command sheet? For example - pharm tech reports to staff pharm who reports to PIC who reports to DOP, etc

stupid question but as far as a hospital setting vs a retail/community setting how different is this for the titles of pharmacists?

And then what about a strict clinical role in a hospital?

Any help for this project would be really really helpful and much appreciated - 🙂

depends.

Sometimes there is a supervising tech who reports to the operations or inpatient supervisors, but they are not directly supervised by pharmacists per se.

We also have some clinical pharmacists in-house who are not hired by the pharmacy department- rather by Internal Medicine. So there are Pharm.D.s who never set a foot or speak to any one in the pharmacy.

That's pretty interesting, I've never seen that around here. The closest thing we have are professors who get placed at a hospital as their practice site.

Is that fairly common out by you?

No, I can think of 2 individuals that fall into that setting. But it's a pretty sweet deal if you can get it (and you like clinic *barf*)

I'd love to be the private pharmacist for a surgical practice. Just tell me what to write for and we'll be good. (surgeons + anything other than p/o pain meds or Ancef 2gm Q8H x 3 days = scary.)

It depends, and there's some overlap. The general form in the hospital I worked at was...

Pharmacy Director

Clinical Pharmacy Supervisor, Pharmacy Supervisor

Pharmacists
-------------------------------
Pharmacy Director

Pharmacy Technician Supervisor

Lead Technicians

Technicians
