I can't tonight but I will be opening a bottle, just got word that I was accepted and will be attending Marquette University School of Dentistry! Super Stoked right now.

I was loosing hope and then a phone call I am finally off the waitlist. Accepted!!!!! Yeah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!😀 😀

No he didn't say exactly. He also expressed that the few acceptances they handed out, he really hoped they were going to sign the letter of intent. I made it very clear through a letter written on Dec. 4th that I only wanted to go to marquette (which is fact). I think they really want to fill their class early, which makes sense. who wants to send out acceptances to people who don't want to go there.

There is a reason they get 3500+ apps every year. I feel blessed to receive one of the 40 out of state spots.

hey pmants! Congrats! Did you say you wrote them a letter saying that you really wanted to go there? Any chance you want to share what you put in the letter? Did you send it before or after the interview?

I sent them a thanks email after the interview, but I wouldn't suggest doing that . I wrote them a letter and sent it Monday Dec. 4th a couple of days after I found out I was on the waitlist. I simply thanked them for putting me on the waitlist, and even considering me. I wrote a couple of sentences about how awsome their clinic/program is (it is totaly awsome). Stated I don't want to go anywhere else (which is true). Gave it to an engish major to proof read and then my advisor, had two more people look it over and sent it off. Sending a profesional looking letter stating your intentions is really a great idea, it gives the adcomms a peice of paper to add to you file and show s then you are serious. Good Luck

I sent hand written thank you notes after my interviews, but I never thought of sending a letter if I was on the waitlist. If I get waitlisted at my no. 1 then I'll probably do that.... first I need an interview from my top choice!
