Hi guys!

Just got verified by OTCAS, so I figured I would ask what my chances are...

Major: Kinesiology, graduating May 2016
Overall GPA: 3.46
Last 60 hours GPA: 3.52 (continually upward trending)
Pre Req GPA: 3.4-3.70 depending on school
Dean's List, Spring 2014
GRE: Verbal- 150 Quantitative- 150 Writing- 4.0

Shadowing Hours: 86 hours in various settings (pediatrics and outpatient rehab, worker's comp)
Work Experience: 2000+ hours working as at an ice cream shop; 450+ as a worker in a campus office setting; tutor to student-athletes
Volunteering: Conducted an after school program for children in the community surrounding my school that formed anti-bullying as well as bike safety programs; tutor to middle school & high school students in schools in low-acheiving schools
Extracurricular: Founding member & treasurer of pre-OT club at my university

-I have 2 recommendations for OTs I've shadowed, 1 from my boss and 1 from my advisor here at school
-I had 4+ people help and proofread my personal statement, so I think it is pretty strong

Applied to: Thomas Jefferson, Sacred Heart, MGH, University of Sciences, Philadelphia University, Winston-Salem, Nova Southeastern, Pitt and University of Florida

I know my grades and everything are kind of just average- that seems to be a problem with everything on my application!! But anyways, just looking for some insight regarding my application. Thanks! 🙂

i have around the same stats as you and applied to a few of those same schools.. i say its worth a shot! if you have a good personal statement and good recommendations it should help. p.s do you have all your pre-reqs for sacred heart? theres certain ones that need to by in by december 15th and my one class won't be in until the 17th - admissions basically said because of the large applicant pool they won't be looking at pending( grades in after that date) applications this year

Thanks! That's what I was hoping... worth a shot!! But as far as Sacred Heart- I do have all my pre-reqs! I spoke to Eva though recently because my school doesn't require Bio I & II to be taken consecutively, and my major only requires Bio II (instead of Bio I that SH requires) so when I spoke to her she said that would be accepted- so who knows what will happen with that! That's really the only issue I had with their pre-reqs. Hopefully it'll all work out for you, too! 🙂
