**I have not yet taken the DAT! But I am studying my butt off.
My stats as of now: I go to University of Washington
1000+ hours volunteering
700 hours ER Medical Scribe
200 hours general and oral surgery shadowing
cGPA: 3.71
bcpGPA: 3.8
sGPA: 3.85

Thank you guys!

I don't think anyone can really help you make a comprehensive school list until you take the DAT, since 19/3.71 can have a really different school list from 23/3.71.

Well as of now you have a zero percent chance. That'll go up significantly once you take the DAT tho.

What is the breakdown between general and specialist? Ideally you've shadowed several different general dentists.
Why are you a medical scribe if you want to be a dentist?<- Will def be asked in at least one interview.

Your GPA is good, keep it that way. Good luck on your DAT!

How do you have 1000+ hours of volunteering?!?
Long term volunteering or super intensive volunteer work probably, places like camps are very dense in terms of hours. I worked 16 hours/day managing campers for 12 days, that's almost 200 hours for around 2 weeks.

True! I did a similar thing for a week at a camp (100 hours) but ended up working at the camp a year later so didn't get to count those hours because I was paid, but it was such a good experience! 1000+ hours is crazy though! I thought I had a lot but probably only had around 300

Hello! I have a question. It says you have 1000+ hours. Is this all like huge hours like (200-300 per type of activity) or are you adding in smaller things like 20-50 hours here at one place, 20-50 at another. I just want to know how you are calculating this! I have about like 300 total but they are all in small increments and want to know if it’s ok to have smaller increments at different types or volunteering compared to like one or two with a large bulk volunteering.
