Hi guys,

Undergrad: 3.2 sGPA, 3.6 cGPA
Masters: 4.0 GPA

I retook my DAT on Aug 19th and got the following scores.
Chem: 21
Ochem: 20
Bio: 20
RC: 20
PAT: 18
QR: 15
TS: 20
AA: 19

I have a lot of extracurricular activities. Worked in 3 different research labs, and have 3 publications.

What do you guys think? What schools should I apply to? Will my QR score hurt me much?

Thank you!

Bump.

so far I have these schools. Any others I should add?

The University of Colorado School of Dental Medicine (COL)

University of Minnesota School of Dentistry (MIN)

Case Western Reserve University School of Dental Medicine (CASE)

Marquette University School of Dentistry (MQT)
The Maurice H. Kornberg School of Dentistry, Temple University (TEMP)
University of Maryland School of Dentistry (MYD)

Add UOP , PENN, COLUMBIA, and STONY BROOK.

Your stats look very good, why did you go for master? Are you old?

And along with your research stuff, seems good....

But don't forget the dental stuff...

Shadowing, assisting, etc.

I wouldn't add any of those schools.

Thanks! I did a one year masters program because my undergrad sGPA was pretty low. I am 25, so wouldn't say that old 🙂
You really think Columbia would look at my DAT, I mean I got a 15 in QR. That is what worries me a bit.

You have research very good experience, you have a masters, QR MIGHT be an issue but IMO 60% not likely.

The schools I listed are the schools who seem to have very academically well doing students.

Apply, don't worry.... Your research stuff looks impressive.

Thank you! I think Upenn is way out of my reach. Last year Stony Brook only accepted 3 out of state applicants. So I don't know if that's a good one. I might give Columbia a try.

Have you purchased the 2014 ADA guide to Dental Schools? Extremely helpful resource when it comes to choosing schools. $10 for the digital edition could save you a lot of money in application fees.

For example, the average AA of students entering Columbia in 2013 is 22.4 with average s and ogpa's of 3.5. It lists these stats along with every other stat you could possibly need for each school. % of OOS student's accepted, curriculum type, tuition costs, admissions requirements, etc.
