I plan on applying broadly. Also do not want to wait another year, so if I do retake it will be before December and update scores.

to be honest, the 17AA and 17TS is going to hurt you and the GPA doesn't help either. Seeing as a majority of interview invites are this fall and the first acceptances go out in december, you would have to retake the DAT soon and do well on it to have a chance for this cycle. Unless you have a favorite uncle who is a dean of admissions or are an URM, plan on retaking. There are plenty of people here who are have KILLED the DAT on round 2 and you could certainly be one of them. Best of luck to you. keep the faith

After some research, there are plenty of schools that average an 18. I also think I have a strong extracurricular background. Do u reccomend retaking before this cycle ends and updating my score?

I would retake before the cycle ends and update your scores. The 15 Bio and 16 RC are going to be big problems.

Yeah the DAT doesn't cut it. If i were you I wouldn't waste my money applying and just retake the DAT. Even if you retake the DAT in like september, october and update, it still might be too late to the point where they have already filled many of the interview slots. Take a gap year IMO
