thanks ! a question tho - why is there a higher chance of getting into private schools than public?I think you have a shot at the very expensive private schools (I.e. Boston, NYU, Tufts, etc.) but some of the public schools I think will be pretty tough. I would also recommend removing the ivy leagues as your DAT and GPA are not high enough to be competitive.
With that said, make sure you know what you're signing up for and calculate the CoA for schools like Tufts, Boston and NYU, because it's going to be back breaking.
What is your state of residence? The United States is your country
because private schools are generally more expensive, so they are less competitive to get in tothanks ! a question tho - why is there a higher chance of getting into private schools than public?
Like @macsak said, generally, outside of the ivy leagues, they're easier to gain an acceptance to because of finances and most high caliber applicants will gain admission to their state school or get a scholarship. They also don't have the requirement to take students from the state they are located in because they are privately, and not publicly funded. So even if you are OOS, you are on pretty much equal footing to an in-state student, rather than applying to a public school outside of your state of residence that will only take a limited amount of OOS students.thanks ! a question tho - why is there a higher chance of getting into private schools than public?

Seems like you don't have lots of volunteer hours & research hours. Ivy schools tend to like students who have research experience. (If money is not a problem, go ahead and apply!) If you have an opportunity to volunteer, I would highly recommend volunteering at the free clinic or somewhere related to dentistry and put them on your app. But good list of schools! Best of luck.
sigh okay thanks guys 🙁 i hope i'll at least get in somewhere..
ahh thank you so much!! yeah i've been realizing that this entire process is really unpredictable since grades really aren't everything. but thanks so much for the encouragement! You will get in for sure! I wasn't trying to discourage you in any ways. Your stats are great and your experience as well. Dental school is not all about numbers. With a great PS and interview, you should be solid. And UOP is definitely doable since they highly look at your DAT scores, which you killed.
