I checked admission eligibility of several OMFS residency programs and many of them said that one needs to be a U.S. citizen or a permanent resident. Are there any OMFS residency programs that don't require U.S. citizenship/permanent resident? I have an F-1 Visa(student visa) and now I am going to a dental school in the U.S starting from Fall 2008. I have been studying in the states since I was 13. I really want to do oral surgery and I would rather study OMFS in the U.S. since I have been going to school here forever. I've read on sdn that getting into OMFS residency is definitely harder for foreign-grads. But I will be graduating from a U.S. dental school while holding the F-1(student visa). Any input will be much appreciated. Thank you.
