So I just took my OAT on Friday and ended with a 350 for both TS and AA. I also have a 3.5 ish GPA (wow the consistency haha), worked as an optometric assistant for a few months and am trying to get in 20 hours of shadowing (currently I have 15). I've got a few volunteering things but nothing crazy, no leadership experience really AND I don't have a bachelor's degree, I'm only going into my third year of university.

Anyways, I'm Canadian and applying to US schools! I've got some on my list including western, nova, uiwso, kyco, pacific, uab, sco, scco, and iaupr... basically too many. Evidently, I'm looking at schools in warmer places because I'm honestly sick and tired of the snow. It's been kinda difficult to sort through all these schools reputations though, so I was wondering if anyone has any advice regarding schools I have a chance with, their reputations, or how many schools people usually apply to?

Thanks so much!

With you GPA and OAT I think you'll definitely at least get an interview anywhere you apply. As long as you have completed you pre requisites it won['t be a problem and it's not too late to join some clubs! See if your school has a pre-optometry club. Gl with your application!

Look at things like board scores, class sizes, and cities/towns you want to live in.
