Graduated '05 with a 3.2, worked 2.5 years as a social worker in a psychiatric clinic. Returned to school to take prereqs with a 3.9 in these. A D in calculus back in '02 is what drops my sGPA a bit, retook it and made an A.

Currently a research assistant at BCM (Baylor), have 3 months here now.

Two summers volunteering as a camp counselor with kids with special needs (MR, ADHD, etc). Also a semester (~30-40 hrs?) volunteering as a reading mentor at an elementary school.

Do I stand a chance? What can/should I add over the next month before I submit my application?

Your MCAT score compensates nicely for the low GPA. I´d think an adcomm would like to see some experience with physically ill patients. I think some physician shadowing would be nice too, and this you could easily get in in the next week or two before submitting, as 8-40 hours for 1-2 docs would satisfy the expectation. Consider 3-4 hours per week volunteering in a clinic or hospital during the application cycle so you can mention this in update letters to schools showing an interest in you.

Apply to ALL TX schools and I think you should stand a chance.
Good job on your nice MCAT👍
