Chances anywhere?

Man, that 15 in PAT is pretty iffy. I would consider retaking it... but on the other hand you have a solid (average-ish) GPA and a OK AA. Hmmm... this is one of those cases where you are on risky ground. My personal opinion is I would retake. Study hard... practice PAT, and just retake. Dont give the ADCOMS any reason to not like you. IMO.

Would anyone out there agree with me?

if you apply early you'll get some interviews

Since when is 3.3 average-ish?

I guess it depends what average is to you...

if average is a score that can get you in, then 3.3 is average (to me)

do you mean average in a negative sense? i don't know.

Is this good enough in terms of the numbers game? Where?

I'd retake it to boost your PAT section, but your scores should still get you interviews at some schools if you apply early. The rest of your scores look real solid. I guess it all depends on the schools you are applying to and other factors on your application.

Good luck.

DON'T!!!
Don't touch that DAT yet. What school are you going to apply?

your scores are average... gpa is average... in a good sense. Average to get accepted to d- school. But to get into a school when you are average means you have to have something (1 or more things) that is above average to catch the eye of the ADCOMS. Anything significantly below average could really hurt. 15 PAT is below average. Otherwise you look pretty good. IMO

Nice post, and thanks for clearing up the confusion on the meaning of 'average' in terms of applying to dental schools. 😉 .

TS score is 20..not too shabby! I wouldn't touch the DAT unless you get rejected this year based purely on your sketch PAT score..I think you can get in somewhere.

your gpa is good enough, as is ur TS and AA. some schools like umdnj, don't look as strictly upon the PAT score as they do on your TS score. if you apply early, you won't have to retake the DAT. find out what schools look at which parts of the DAT more strongly.i really dont thinkyou need to retake the exam tho.

If there is a specific school you want to get into, then you may want to retake the DAT to increase your chances. However, if you just want to get into dental school, your numbers are fine.

Thanks for your responses guys. I know my PAT is pretty sketch which I the primary reason I posted. Personally, I think I am pretty ok despite that ****ty score, but that's life. Let me know if you guys think I should narrow my list or add some schools? I plan on applying to:
BU, Case, Tufts, Louisville, Umdnj, UNLV, USC, NYU, NSU, Temple, and IU?

You are all set then. Apply early and prepare for interviews.

Here's a bacteria we will all encounter in d-school: Actinobacillus actinomycetemcomitans. I'll throw a couple benjamins your way if you can say that one five speedy times in a row.

i can't even read this five speedy times in a row 😳

hey,

your gpa is above average for most of the schools on your list. you should probably try to get a 20 AA score though, if you don't want to get stuck at nyu. as for the pat, i got a 15 and got in w/o mention at interviews.

if nyu, temple, or bu are good enough, then don't retake it and chill.
