Hey SDN,

i know there are a ton of threads like this but i just e-submitted my AADSAS and am freaking out about it.

DAT: aa/ts/pat
20/20/21
BCP/GPA: 2.97/3.25

biology major, IL resident

any suggestions for where else to apply?

so far i've only applied to the 3 IL schools because my gpa is so low. should i try for more schools, or wait for next year once my GPA is a little higher?

thanks in advance!

Although your BCP is pretty low, applying to only 3 schools will hurt you even more. You need to apply broadly to expensive privates, such as Tufts and NYU. You might as well bank on being accepted this cycle since you already applied, so you should apply to many more schools.

If you look at my post history, you might find some relevant info.

3.3ish sGPA, 3.6oGPA, 22AA

i have a pretty good amount of ECs

here's the list i've come up with

Indiana University
MWU IL
UIC
SIU
Minnesota
UMKC
louisville
Marquette
Roseman
kentucky
Western
lecom
case western
uop
buffalo
tufts

any additions/deletions?

depending on ur financial situation. Are you well off? If so, apply to 20 schools this cycle and hope for the best.

If moneys tight, I wouldn't apply to alot of schools because honestly, its a crap shot (low GPA and slightly higher than average DAT).... Overall, you would not be considered competitive (unless you have a big upward trend in the last 30-40+ credits of sciences).

But you are on the right track (assuming ofc, you will be taking more classes for next year's cycle to show that upward trend... right?)

i'm getting my master's in the fall at mwu that guarantees an interview if you keep a 3.0. but i didn't want to depend on that.

should i add more schools? keep just the illinois schools? wait until i'm done with my masters?

help?! 😱

I'd add NYU. I had similar stats (but also an MA in a non-science) when I applied, and got in.
