I finally just completed my dmu file ( i was waiting on my DO letter of rec) and I am hoping for an interview at dmu. I was a 22P on my MCAT and I have a 3.6 gpa. Can anyone give some insight or opinions on if i have a shot at getting an interview/acceptance there?

Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but from what I know (a friend of mine who was told about a month ago that the class was full and had much higher stats than you; this was to even just get an interview) you probably don't have a chance this year. better luck next time. its a hard school to get into.

I've already been accepted to wvsom, so some of the pressure is off. However there are a few aspects of dmu that seem more attractive to me. Do you have any opinions on wv vs. dm?

i do
WV is a med school which you GOT into...cannot think of a bigger con

please explain, i'm not sure what you mean? it sounds like your saying it is a con that i got into wv. or that it is a con that i am keeping my options open to other opinions? confused

22Q, 3.92 GPA, accepted to DMU. If you get an interview, your chances for acceptance are about 80+%. I was also accepted into WVSOM and a few of my gripes about it were they didn't seem to have many answers to my questions; how the classes would be (they are increasing their numbers), ect. Everything just seemed up in the air to me and it didn't give me a good feel when I was there. Of the schools I was accepted to, however, I put it in the top three (DMU, PCOM and WVSOM). All you can do right now is sit back and wait. I am not sure about the "class filled" quote but the worst you can do is wait. You have an acceptance so thats a lot of pressure off you already.

I had interviews for two consecutive years, but only placed on the alternate list both times. 3.8GPA and 20L MCAT plus tons of medical experience.
They think their school is pretty hot and if you have a MCAT like mine, especially with a VR4 because of a bad day, be prepared to explain.

I too had to explain my low MCAT score ( I do only have two points higher than you). That is just something you are going to have to do for a school where the average is a 25. Just be prepared to tell them the other good qualities that you have. An individual's performance on the MCAT may get you into medical school on the way to becoming a doctor but, it is his or her emapthy towards others that makes a doctor great.

ok here is an explanation...
You got in to WV....you should be happy you got in somewhere.
Also you can post questions like "my chances" if you want to cheat your counsciousness but if you want the answear you should call the school. We are not ADCOM's and it's hard to tell bu two numbers if you will get in. One of my firends had 3.98 GPA 33 mcat and so far didn't get anywhere...how can anyone except for an adcom answear your question???
this process besides being rediculous is full of mystery and you never know untill you apply....so be happy with your acceptance and be patient to hear from DMU good luck :luck:
