So at the end of 2011 I should have about 90 credits completed and I know that all 4 of those schools, do not require a Bachelors for admissions. That being said, by my last semester in 2011 I should have a gpa of around 3.2 in both science and overall. I'm taking the MCAT in august and have consistently been scoring in the 35-38 range, so hopefully the same will reflect on the actual Exam. So what do you guys think my chances are for admission? Also, I have about 60 hours of volunteer work on a nursing team, I coordinate a free health clinic in my area, and I'm about to start shadowing an oncologist/hematologist for 3 hours a week for the rest of the year.

Why are you applying to Caribbean schools? If you can really get a 35 on the MCAT then you can get into a US school, assuming you're a US citizen. The 35 and your ECs will definitely make up for your 3.2 which isn't awful anyway and probably get you in to some MD program if you apply broadly. Also you would definitely be able to get into a DO school. Don't do Caribbean, but yes you'd get into any Caribbean school.

Well the reason I'm not applying to US MD schools is because my 3.2 is AFTER retakes. AMCAS will use all my courses to calculate my gpa and I messed up BIG TIME my first two years of school. But I will definitely apply to DO schools because they'll take my highest grade. Also, if i score atleast a 240 on my step1, what are my chances of landing a residency in general surgery, or IM-Gastroenterolgy as an IMG?

Cool, best of luck with the DO applications. As you probably know from reading the forums going Caribbean can be kind of risky. But if you feel it's the best option for you go for it. If you can really well down there and do well on your step 1, I am not sure what score I'd say you need to shoot for though, then you could definitely do general surgery but as for a speciality type of surgery I am not so sure.
