What do you think about the chances of acceptance if you are granted for interview (pre-december) on Western Univ? My interview is on Oct 14th.... I am seriously nervous about it since it is the only one interview invitation so far...

Thanks in advance..

The good news is that the Western interview is straightforward and fairly relaxed. It's a good way to start off. Take note of the Interview Feedback responses and various threads that have popped up during this cycle of interviews for Western U. They contain fairly accurate information and should help ease your nerves a little bit. Spend some time reflecting and perhaps rehearsing out-loud some things you would like your interviewers to know and perhaps what you want to learn from your visit to the school.

I really don't know the odds of acceptance with a pre-Dec interview. Pre-Dec interviews are always a plus though. So just go ace the interview. Good luck and I wish you many more interviews.

I think I saw on Doc's data (or maybe it was my own...) like 25-30% chance of those interviewed are accepted. That would have been for out of state people though.

This is for the class of 2010:

1188 OOS people applied
87 OOS people were selected for interview
Of those 87 people, 20 enrolled**.

They did not report data on how many out of the 87 they accepted. I am sure it was a few more than 20 because some people probably declined the offer.

But, 20 / 87 = 23% of being accepted AND enrolling

For 2011 from Doc's data:
1151 OOS applied
338 OOS interviewed
70 of those accepted

70 / 338 = 21% chance of getting accepted

So, as you can see, Western is a rather difficult school to get accepted to.
