Hi everyone. I'm currently a college sophomore at Binghamton Uni. Majoring in Biology. Last year I didn't really take college as seriously as I should have and ended the year with a 3.46. I was pretty disappointed, come summer.

My question is: is this a GPA that I can recover from, and still be competitive at most medical schools?

I've got plenty of volunteering hours, clinical experience, etc...

Thank you!

Do the math. If you get 4.0 for the rest of college, you will graduate with a 3.86.

Figure out what else contributed to your current grade situation (apart from lack of discipline), and work on correcting these issues. A GPA becomes harder to fix the further along you are.

MCAT is more important than gpa. Also upward trend is good so try to diagnose the problem, work hard, and try to bring up grades
