I don't have a bachelor degree...actually i will finish 3 years of study (getting 90 sem units) before getting into dental school (if i get accepted...).therefore i still meet their minimum requirement..my GPA so far is around 3.3 and my DAT is (AA=24, TS=24, PAT=21)...will my application be seriously affected because i am still working towards 3 years??will i still get interviews? anybody would do that like me?? 😕

chill. its very common for us canadians to not have 90 credits completed before applying. but as long as you are finishing off your 90 credits in the upcoming winter semester thats all that matters

writing my dats november 6th so i will going next year, most likely to boston university. good luck!

i don't understand why anyone would want to cut their undergrad short and go straight into dental school..i mean those were the best 4 years of my life..it still saddens me that it's over because i was the only one who actually left out of the group of friends i made..im now taking a year off which is real nice because im working as an assistant at an oral surgeon's office which is giving me great experience and i don't have to worry about doing any sort of schoolwork plus i can still visit all my college buddies when i want to! i seriously could not imagine going straight into dental school after only 3 years of undergrad...r things that different in canada?

Hey Mitch. here in quebec we only have 3 years of undergrad to do. we spend 2 years in what is called Cegep..where most us to do our science prereqs and other stuff, then we go to university. So universities in quebec are traditionally only supposed to last 3 years. not sure about ontario though..

oh yeah that sort of thing didn't occur to me..luckily in the state of Georgia we have the HOPE scholarship which pays ur entire tuition plus gives u $150 a semester for books as long as u maintain above a 3.0 gpa and are a GA state resident..pretty cool huh? it makes going to college here very affordable..however only about half of the students actually maintain it all 4 years..in fact only about 35% of students even graduate in 4 years 😱

As a Canadian, may I ask what possesses you to choose BU, the most expensive school on earth? Remember buddy, not only is it the most expensive school, but its also in AMERICAN DOLLARS 😱

Sure. Because its east coast,i like their APEX program,i;ve toured the campus before and my uncle is an assistant professor there and has told me great things. Also my gpa is only 3.22 so i figured I wouldn't stand a chance at columbia, tufts,u of penn and of course harvard. nyu also seems a bit sketch. and they're all pretty much going to run me 65 g's a year. Except in boston i will have a place to stay for at least first year..so that should help. I am applying to temple as well actually..i'll let you know if I get the interview or not. I;m glad to see some fellow canadians out there..its encouraging to see.

if you have a free place to stay in Boston, thats great and Boston seems to be your best choice!! However, I would choose Tufts over BU in a heartbeat and with your GPA, you can get into Tufts....

Hey Bad! Can you give a list of cheaper schools that welcome Canadians? It seems like you know the costs of many schools in US. Tuition/cost will definitely be my biggest factor when choosing a dental school.

creighton and howard so far are cheaper than the others...50000USD per year including living expenses...
