I am currently debating whether or not to take up an opportunity to attend medical school in Canada. I am a US citizen who completed his bachelor degree in the US. Would attending medical school in Canada affect my chances at matching into a US residency program provided that I am a US citizen and take the USMLE?

@onelastpuff23 its actually Dalhousie, which from what I understand is a well respected school as well

Yeah, all Canadian schools are pretty well respected. I didn't know Dal accepts internationals, but yeah it shouldn't hurt your chances. It definitely doesn't in terms of accreditation purposes, you should be treated like a US MD.

Dal is a fine school. There's no real reason it would present a disadvantage. The only hindernance is geography because NS is fairly isolated from the US . You'll need to fly or drive long distances. The hospitals are pretty good for a city of its size.

I heard the CEO of the Mayo clinic did his MD at Dal. I didn't know Dal took interenationals
