Hey guys, i am a third year right now and i'm gonna be applying for the 2005 application cycle and i just wanted to get some input from you all. What do you think my chances are of getting into California schools, spcefically UCLA or UCSF? What should i do to increase my chances of getting in? Thanx for all your help, I appreciate it.

Undergraduate/Graduate School: UC Irvine
GPA: 3.45
Sci GPA: 3.58
major: Biological Sciences

DAT: 22/22/19

plenty of community service and leadership roles in community.

You have a good shot at both the schools. But the DAT and and
GPA are on increase --thats's what I see. You will definately get in somewhere but try to increase GPA, that will help for sure.

I think with GPA = 3.65 and that DAT score you will have a
better shot at both schools.

Agreed. You're a solid candidate for a number of schools. If that's not good enough for you, bringing your GPA up .1 or .2 should make you just about bulletproof. Good luck 😀

When I talked to the people at UCLA, they said that the average science GPA was a 3.7, and the average total GPA was a 3.6. These are just averages though, and I got into UCLA with a 3.5 science, so I think you have a good shot! Good luck!

you should get involved with some research. i believe that ucla and ucsf like applicants with research experience.

UCLA I cannot speak about because they are horrible when it comes to interviews... UCSF,you have a good chance.

Although in my class we did have perfect scores on the DAT, don't let things discourage you.

Keep up the volunteering and inquire about the various programs the school offers. UCSF offers a day where you come in and speak to administrators. It's a nice way of getting those good connections.

And anyways, UCSF is BETTER! Aim for UCSF!!!!
