i think if anything your DATs may hinder your chances of an acceptance, no matter when you apply. i would highly suggest retaking your DATs this summer. higher DATs=better chance.

apply june, retake DATs july/august (so you have time to study), send updated transcript in december. if you don't get any interviews pre-december, an updated transcript could help you get some post-december ones. just my opinion!

i don't think your situation looks that bad...i would say only retake the dat if you truly think you can do better. in my opinion, i think you would have to go up +2 points to make it worth retaking. i definitely think sending grade updates will help!! good luck! youl'll be ok!

I think as long as you apply early, and you have it down that you're going to a graduate program, you stand a fair chance. If money isn't that big of a deal, apply to LOTS of schools ( I applied to 23 and it worked out for me!).

You're not in absolutely horrible shape, don't worry - I really don't think you'll be rejected off the bat.

Yah, im in the same boat as you in fact my gpa is barely above a 3.0 but Im finishing up my MPH this semester with a 3.5, (i know thats not that great but better than undergrad) and taking my DAT in 3 wks, hopefully get at least a 20 AA (that is the goal).

Youre not in bad shape but apply early and apply to lots of schools (im applying to 33 schools that Ive looked at and accept out of state applicants).

thanks. anyone else in my shoes doing a masters to increase their chances?

You're better off re-taking the DAT and getting a 21 or so, than getting the Masters. You'll prob need to re-take the DAT regardless, whether or not you need the Masters as well depends on how high your DAT retake is.
