Hey guys,

Hopefully no one laughs when I ask this, but I am currently on the waiting list for Southwest Baptist, and they told me I'm in the range of 125-150 on the waiting list. The guy said there was over 300 people on the waiting list. What does this mean? Why would they put so many people on the waiting list when there's only 80 spots they've already offered positions to?

Also, do I even have a chance of getting in this year? I'm getting married in a few weeks and I'm just trying to figure out what to do this summer...retake prerequisites? Re take the GRE?

Thanks a bunch,

Aneisa

It really varies depending on the program. Some programs may go a few dozen candidates into the wait list, and some programs may only take one or two candidates off the wait list.

How do your stats look? (GPA, prereq GPA, GRE, observation hours, etc)

It's tough to say. Some schools use a ton of their waitlist, while others hardly have to use them at all. You could ask the secretary if they had gone through that many waitlist positions last year. That'd give you at least a rough idea if you have a shot.

If anyone already got in and is looking for housing please message me, and for those that are still wait-listed don't give up. They still accept people up until orientation.

Sincerely,
