Hi again,

I'm kinda pissed now 😡 My school just said that they will include a letter from the dean but not the rest of the MSPE. When I asked the school secretary what was the reasoning they said it would be too much work for them. So now I'm trying to get a meeting with the dean of the school to try and work things out. So, I'm trying for anesthesiology and have a pretty good board score with great grades but how much will I be affected by not having the MSPE? Thanks

Who knows what are your chances! No one knows _where_ you applied.. top tier, bottom or middle...

No one knows if you are AMG or IMG... or your stats...

MSPE might be the reason a program drops you.... or it might be something dont care about and just want to see by the time they rank you... all programs vary and the MSPE has very little influence in some and very big influence in others.

Sorry about not being specific with the post. I'm an IMG that is enrolled at a 6 year program in Poland. I got a 233-94 on step 1, I'm at the top of my class, and am taking Step 2 in June. The MSPE is part of the ERAS application that the school fills out. It includes the dean's letter, grades, and clerkship info. So I was just wondering if programs expect this from schools outside the US and how much impact it has on the overall evaluation of an applicant. I'll be applying for anesthesiology in the 2008 match. I hope this is enough info...again, I'm sorry for the original post not including everything 😳

so if your school won't include that then why can't you get a copy of the missing items from your school and submit it yourself to ERAS??? It might come down to that to make your application complete.

it'll have an impact on some programs. I remember a guy from my own school who didn't pay the school $10 to send out the MSPE (Dean's letter) to the ecfmg. So it was never released until after Nov 1.

He got some invites pre-dean's letter release, but never got an invite after that.

If your school didn't provide you with one, did you check that box? in the eras form where it asked if your school would provide one? If not the ecfmg would have written something in its place.

Dont know what else to say really. I think it will hurt.
