Chances?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
If your goal is going to ANY medical school then you are good to go. Your shadowing experience is a tad bit low, but you do have other clinical experience through your hospital volunteering and the hospice work. Your GPA is fantastic. Your MCAT score is good enough for plenty of fine schools.

Hospice definitely counts in my book, so I'd say your chances are excellent. Bone up on whatever volunteer work as you can, and aim high. You're golden for all NY schools, and more.

Hey Guys, I recently got my MCAT scores back which was a very balanced 32 (no scores below a 10). My cGPA is around a 3.94 and my sGPA is a 4.0. I'm a ny resident. I'm planning on applying to med school for this upcoming cycle but I feel that my EC's are on the weaker side ESPECIALLY compared to the ppl who post on this forum.

I have:

- around 60 hrs of non medical community service
- 100+ volunteer hours at a hospice (I volunteered at this place for a little over a year now and will still continue until I hopefully get an acceptance)
- 60 hrs volunteering at a hospital (1 semester)
- 1 semester of being a TA for my psych class and 1 semester of being a tutor
- Started Research last summer and am still continuing
- Shadowed an oncologist and a PM&R doc. Total hrs is around 30 ish
- I'm also a part of PBK and just found out recently that I'm graduating salutatorian of my class

Given this info do you think my chances are OK? I'm not looking to get into a top medical school. In fact I'll be happy with ANY medical school MD or DO. Thanks!
