Hey everyone,

I just want to know how you guys think I will do this application cycle. I feel like I have a strong GPA and good references that should really give me a shot at getting in somewhere, but I do not have a good PCAT score. I am applying early (my apps should all be out by the middle of this month).

Here are my stats:

3.65 Science GPA
3.72 Cumulative GPA

PCAT
30-Verbal
67-Bio
25-Reading
72-Chem
49-Quantitative
47-Composite

I know pharmacy schools main subscore concern on the PCAT is the Bio and Chem scores so maybe this low composite actually can be competitive?

Here is some more info:

I currently work at a CVS pharmacy as a technician and have been there for 3 months now. Not only that, I also have volunteered at a hospital in the pharmacy and roughly have about 100 hours logged in there.

My first 2 years of undergrad I played baseball for the community college I was attending and received an Academic All American honor. While playing baseball in college I also was a member of Phi Theta Kappa, the national junior college honor society.

I have 3 strong letters of recommendation. One written by my organic chem professor, another by my athletic academic advisor, and then the last by a pharmacist that I worked with when volunteering.

The only prerequisite that I have left is organic chem 2, which I am taking this fall...

The popular answer i've heard for their defense is that those people have some sorts of anxiety with taking standardized test, which prevents them from getting a decent scores despite doing fine in school and they will do great in pharmacy schools and make excellent pharmacists. (chuckle)
