Hi everyone,

Just was wondering what some of you may think of my chances are for getting into dental school. My GPA has been very high but I just got a C on my genetics final and it has really made me question the competitiveness of my application. All thoughts are appreciated!

Year: Junior
GPA (before genetics): 3.88
GPA (after genetics): Probably 3.7's

Bio 1/2/Lab -- A/A/A
Chem 1/2/Lab -- A/A/A
Physics 1/2/Lab1/Lab2 -- A/B/A/A
Honors Orgo 1/2/Lab -- A/B+/(haven't taken lab yet)
Calc 1/Calc 2 -- AP credit/B+
Intro to Biochem -- A
Genetics -- C or C+, not determined yet

All English and elective courses are also A.
All Psychology courses (my minor) are also A.

I have about 70 hours of shadowing (orthodontist and general dentist). I have a leadership position in one of the clubs I am involved in on campus. I have 5 letters of recommendation from faculty so far, 2 from English professors, 2 from Biology TA's, and one from an organic chemistry professor. I worked 3 part-time jobs this semester, 2 of them more often than the third. I haven't taken the DAT yet but am going to begin preparing soon. I want to make sure I do well on that test, but this C in genetics is my main concern at this point.

Thanks!
