Ok I am about to submit my AMCAS and I had a few questions. I wanted to know how my chances stand at this moment. I got a 34O on my MCATS, I have a 3.4 and a 3.47 BCPM. I have done research and lots of clinical work. I do my share of ECs and I go to an ivy league school. Currently I am taking the hardest major they offer. I am a NY resident. What schools should I apply to? and where have people with similar stats ended up?
Thanks.

I think your chances are pretty good. Just be cool in your interviews.

Obviously, all the NY schools. I would personally apply to several top-ranked schools--Columbia, Harvard, Cornell, etc. And 10 or so mid-ranged schools, as backups. It also depends on where you want to live...

👍

15 schools or so.

You look like a pretty good applicant, but be cautious! I go to the University of Michigan...not Ivy League or anything, but a good school nonetheless, and I know some people who applied to med schools last year who had good MCAT scores and GPA's, and were a little too picky in where they applied, and ended up not getting into any med schools because they aimed to high and didnt have any back-up schools. So my advice to you is...yes, you stand a decect chance of getting into an Ivy League or other upper-tier school, but so do a lot of other people, which is why you need to make sure you apply to some back-up schools. Personally, I'm in a similar position (33Q, 3.75, with a 3.64 BCPM) and I applied to several really good schools (Harvard, WashU, Hopkins, Emory, Mayo) but also a lot of less selective ones, like Case Western, Tulane, and Wayne State. So I'd recommend doing the same, just to make sure you have a back-up plan.

Addendum:
Can you guys name some schools that you recommend or know people with similar stats who made it to that school? I don't mind applying to lots of schools. I was thinking like 30+, good idea or bad?
Thanks.

If you apply to every school in New York state you should be golden.

Why bump? You've got your answer. Check the MSAR if you need the stats.
