So I was just wondering what ya'll thought my chances were at getting into dental school. Here are my stats:

GPA:
Overall 3.62
Sci 3.47
BCP 3.41

DAT:
RC 20
QR 20
PAT 21
GC 20
BIO 19
OC 20
TS 20
AA 20

I've applied to marquette, case western, creighton, Michigan, and detroit Mercy, and I'm a resident of Michigan. Do you think i'm set applying to those 5 schools or should I broaden my search a bit based on my stats. What do you think my chances are at those schools mentioned? I have the usual amount of extracurriculars and a good PS. Thanks in advance for any advice you can give me!

If i was in your place and I REALLY wanted to get in dental school my first time applying, I would pump that up to 12 schools....

other than that... your application is solid

I would say you have a really good chance. BUT like the previous post mentioned I would send my app out to a few extra d-schools maybe 10-15 in total just in case. That way you don't have to stress it or apply to any schools next year and live with the regret... That make sense? PS what school do you go to?

solid numbers but like the other people have mentioned apply to some more schools just in case (maybe 5 more or something). you don't want to have to wait another year if you could just get in this year

my stats are almost the same as yours, but your overall is a little higher and my science is higher than yours
and i am not taking any chances, applying to every single dental school there is
i dont care if i have to go to ohio or something

I guess I was just thinking that if I was going to get in anywhere it would be at one of the schools in the state i'm a resident (Michigan). If i get in to one of those I'll def. be going there, so I was hoping to save money and apply to those and a few others just in case.

My stats are slightly higher than yours, but I didn't feel like I needed to apply to 10-15 schools. I applied to my state schools (TX, AL) and UNC, I didn't feel the need to apply anywhere else because it would be pretty crazy to get in a top private school (Columbia) and not get into my state school! Save your money, don't apply to places where you wouldn't want to go. If your state school is for you, then do it!

It's better to be safe than to be sorry. Best of luck, I think your scores are fine.

Yeah but you need to have a few extra schools as a fall back plan! Unless you want to spend more money/time and do it again next year.

What college do you go to?
