AADSAS verified GPA (W/O +-)
BCP : 3.02
Science : 3.07
Non-Science : 3.40
Total : 3.22

DAT
AA : 21
TS : 22
PAT : 23

Apparently, this doesn't mean much anymore, but I graduated from a top twenty university (May '09) with a degree in Biology and Economics. I have spent the last year working as a consultant with a health and public services client through a global management and technology consulting firm.

I have a large amount of hours shadowing but no research whatsoever. I've been involved with a handful of dental volunteer groups and a lot of other leadership roles.

My application has been submitted and verified, and AADSAS claims that it will be sent to schools within two weeks of today's date.

I'm hoping the year removed from school and a strong performance in my job (I have a pretty stellar rec from my current supervisor) might take the heat off my incredibly weak GPA. I'm trying to keep my expectations realistic and hoping to get an acceptance from schools that historically give higher value to stronger DAT scores (i.e. BU, Tufts, NYU).

Not too bad. Apply early and to a lot of schools and I'd say ~40%

I have already submitted my application and it will likely be in the "second batch" mailed to schools. Here is the list of schools I applied to...

BU
Howard
Midwestern (new campus in Chicago)
NYU
Nova
Temple
Tufts
Buffalo
Louisville
Maryland
Pittsburgh
VCU
MCG (Georgia's state school)

I'm thinking about tacking on Marquette and/or Case Western.

Any dif. between w/o and not w/o??? My overall gpa and bcp/sci is higher with non w/o....

my stats are similar to yours and i applied to many of the same schools you did, i added marquette because i heard they tend to value volunteering and such more than other schools

i applied to case western as well but on another forum someone posted that they weed people out with a computer based on sci gpa...now idk if thats true or what the cut off is but something to look into if you want to add it

i also applied to columbia b/c on predents it shows a trend of them adding people with lower gpas and strong dats

Good luck!! :luck:

So you are from Georgia? and you are most likely a minority? (given that you applied to howard)
I think you got a good list, all the best
