Hey everyone, I'm currently considering dropping a Masters program I recently enrolled in. Since its before the drop deadline, it would be considered a "withdrawal in good standing" and won't appear on my transcript. Only problem is that in my personal statement I have a sentence stating that I was accepted into this program for the upcoming year, back in June. If I do drop the program, should I email each school about the change in my personal statement?

Starting and not finishing a task is usually not a good idea.

I understand that, but after meeting with my supervisor it seems unlikely that I'd be able to complete the program before mid-August, at which point a lot of dental programs or orientations would've already begun. Wouldn't it be better to withdraw now then, then having to withdraw halfway through or risk getting any potential offers rescinded?

Does your program allow certain number credits to be transferred from dental school? Some SMP allow it, also depends on the dental school.

Hindsight is 20/20. You may get "offers rescinded" because you did claim to have been accepted into an MS program, but it is not like anyone is going to pay much attention to anything that is not "fait accompli".

I dropped the program after meeting with my advisor again and deciding it was best in this case. Should I send an email to each of the schools I applied to notify the change in my personal statement?
