Right now I'm a Medical Bio major, and I'm planning on starting my upper division Spanish next quarter for my Spanish minor. (I'm only a second year, doing 5 years; math set me back a year). However, with next year being my ochem, bio, physics year, I might have to push most of my spanish classes back till my 5th year, after I apply. If I apply and say I'm minoring in Spanish, but then after I turn my app in decide not to, is that a bad move?

uh i think that if you say that you are going to minor in spanish and you don't, then you should write schools a letter updating them of your status. if you are applying to a school that serves a big hispanic population, then speaking spanish will be a valuable asset to your application. you can always take alot of spanish classes, not minor in it but put that you speak spanish in the "languages spoken" section of the AMCAS application. i don't think your spanish minor will make or break your application though...
